Design and Display
The 2024 11-inch iPad Pro is the thinnest Apple product ever made, featuring a 5.3mm thick, 100% recycled aluminum enclosure. The screen, branded as “Ultra Retina XDR,” uses Tandem OLED technology—stacking two OLED panels together—to provide extreme contrast and high brightness, reaching up to 1,000 nits full-screen for both SDR and HDR content, and 1,600 nits peak for HDR. It supports ProMotion (10Hz-120Hz), P3 wide colour, and True Tone.
Performance (M4 Chip)
The M4 chip brings a huge leap in performance, utilizing second-generation 3-nanometer technology to deliver up to 1.5x faster CPU performance compared to the previous M2 iPad Pro. The 10-core GPU provides hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading for advanced graphics, while the 16-core Neural Engine accelerates AI tasks like subject isolation in Final Cut Pro.
Camera and Audio
The 12MP TrueDepth front camera has been moved to the landscape orientation, making video calls more natural when using the iPad in a landscape position. The rear 12MP camera supports 4K ProRes video capture, while the LiDAR scanner improves AR experiences and 3D scanning. It features four studio-quality microphones and a four-speaker audio system.
Accessories and Software
This model supports the Apple Pencil Pro, which features squeeze gestures, haptic feedback, and gyroscopic orientation (barrel roll). The redesigned, thinner Magic Keyboard (2024) includes a larger trackpad with haptic feedback and an aluminum palm rest. The iPad comes with iPadOS 17, offering multitasking features like Stage Manager and AI-enabled apps
