Description
The Fujifilm X-M5 is built for hybrid creators, bringing professional-grade, fifth-generation imaging components into a smaller form factor that fits in a pocket. It is marketed as an ideal, accessible entry point into the X-mount ecosystem for those moving up from smartphones.
Imaging Performance: Despite its small size, it produces high-quality 26.1MP images with minimal noise, even in low light, thanks to the BSI-CMOS 4 sensor.
Video-Centric Features: It supports 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording, allowing for extensive re-framing in post-production. It also offers “Vlog Mode,” which allows for intuitive touch-screen controls, such as Product Priority mode for product reviews and a background defocus mode.
Audio Enhancement: It is the first in the X Series to feature three built-in microphones, allowing for selectable, high-quality audio pickup (Surround, Front, Back, or Front & Back).
Physical Design: The top plate features traditional, symmetrical dials, including a dedicated Film Simulation dial, but notably omits an electronic viewfinder (EVF), relying entirely on the rear LCD screen. It lacks in-body image stabilization (IBIS), instead using advanced digital stabilization for video.
Accessories & Battery: Uses the NP-W126S battery, rated for approximately 440 frames. It supports an optional FAN-001 cooling fan for extended recording in high temperatures.
