The EL-1 (Ver. 2) is designed for “one chance” moments, providing unmatched consistency in output and speed. An active cooling system with a fan and specialized glass panel keeps the flash from overheating during high-speed, continuous shooting, making it a reliable tool for long events.
High-Performance Battery (LP-EL)
Instead of AA batteries, the EL-1 (Ver. 2) uses a dedicated rechargeable Lithium-ion LP-EL battery. This battery is designed to provide high current for fast, repeated flashes and offers a clear, accurate battery level indicator on the flash screen to prevent unexpected power loss.
Advanced Modeling Lamp and Control
A built-in dual-color LED modeling lamp allows photographers to see how light and shadows will fall before taking the shot. The flash allows for extremely low-power settings (down to 1/8192), which is ideal for subtle fill light or close-up work.
Rugged Construction and Interface
The flash features a 180-degree swivel, 120-degree tilt, and a robust design with weather sealing equivalent to Canon’s L-series lenses. The user interface is upgraded with a joystick for faster, more intuitive setting adjustments in the field.
